This photo has always been a little bit random to me but I have always just loved how it looks with the different branches reaching out like green arms all over the place and the individual needles giving the photo some texture. The pinecone gives some good depth and a nice break from all the green, and draws me eye in when I'm looking at the photo.
The photo was taken in Northern Michigan near my Grandparents cottage. I have taken so many photos up there throughout the years, as it holds a special place in my heart and is full of beautiful areas and great photo opportunities. The pinecone and pine tree from this photo feel very cottagey to me due to how many pine trees surround the property and we used to collect pinecones to put in the fire pit because they make good fire starters.
This really is a photo that might seem random or like it doesn't have much behind it but between the memories I have associated with literally everything related to the my grandparents cottage, and the way that pine trees represent perseverance and persistence the photo represents a lot more to me than you would think at first glance.
